Orange Granita


Finish the evening with a sweet icy dessert featuring mango, orange juice, and fresh lime juice.  For an additional kick, garnish with red pepper.



  • 2 ripe, medium mangoes (about 1 lb., 10 oz.)
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest, plus 1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice (from about 2 limes), divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 8 teaspoons gold tequila

How to Make It

Step 1

Peel mangoes; coarsely chop fruit. Process mango, orange juice, water, sugar, lime juice, and salt in a blender until smooth. Pour mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish. Freeze until firm, about 4 hours, scraping mixture with a fork every 30 minutes.

Step 2

Divide mixture evenly among 8 small glasses. Drizzle with tequila, and sprinkle with lime zest.
