- 1 cup frozen mixed berries
- 2 teaspoons finely grated orange rind
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 sheet frozen ready-rolled butter puff pastry
- 2 tablespoons almond meal (ground almonds)
- 2 teaspoons caster sugar
Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan forced. Combine berries, orange rind and maple syrup in a bowl.
Cut pastry into 4 squares. Using a sharp knife, cut diagonal slits into 1 half of each square. Spoon almond meal over uncut sides. Top with berry mixture. Fold cut side of pastry over to enclose filling. Using a fork, press edges to seal. Place on tray lined with baking paper. Brush with water. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden and puffed. Serve with double cream or ice-cream.
